LEARNING OBJECTIVES

• SEXUAL EXPLOITATIONS OF CHILDREN

Understanding and utilizing screening tools for identification of sexual exploitation of children. Understand risk factors and needed response for victims of sexual exploitation.

• ANAPHYLAXIS

Recognize clinical signs and symptoms of anaphylaxis. Administer epinephrine intramuscularly in a timely manner. Stratify patients at risk of anaphylaxis related death.

• CONCUSSION UPDATE

Evaluate and treat concussion symptoms early in the course of injury, including early referral to concussion specialists in sports medicine, physical therapy, optometry, and neuropsychology. Partner with school staff, including counselors, teachers, and athletic trainers, to improve concussed patients; academic experience and recovery.

• PEDIATRIC NON-EPILEPTIC “SPELLS

”Identify features suggestive of non-epileptic events.  Utilize home video as a helpful evaluation tool of non-epileptic events.  Identify those patients requiring further evaluation and neurologic consultation.
